Project Start Date > 24th January 2022

Project Due Date > 6th May 2022

For week 10 of this project I spent a larger amount of time using Unreal and less time on art as there wasn't much left to draw up for the game. I completed the final game board, the discard pile and deck image and imported some VFX I found for free in the Epic Games store that I could use either alongside those art indicators or just on their own.

I spent this week refining the visual look of the credits and settings screens for my game and working on the basics of the in-game UI with the witch cards showing up in the top left corner and having the checkboxes in place, which have yet to be blueprinted to only appear if the corresponding card is in the player's hand.

I made an attempt to start creating the deck and have it shuffle so that I could draw a card on the beginning of the player's turn but I have yet to get it to work. For now all of the possible cards you can draw are in an array which then gets shuffled upon start of the game but there's no way to draw a card or even have one spawn yet.

Nearer towards the end of the week I used a tutorial from Matt Aspland on Youtube to complete my settings menu and have all of the settings actually work as they should when you then go back to the main menu and select play. This included Anti-Aliasing, Post Processing, Texture and Shadow Quality, Screen Resolution, FPS Limit and the View Mode. I begun making the volume slider but only got as far as adding it onto the widget without any blueprinting as I needed to find some sound effects and music to implement in order to be able to test the slider once it was done.
